The Garden of Dreams - Yet Another FK Poll

I must say I'm surprised how truly fantastic and epic Garden of Dreams is. When I first heard it, I just thought it was "quite OK" and after listening some more times I dismissed it for being just a medley of random ideas (just like many reviewers on PA seem to have). But somewhere in my mind it hung on and when listening once again, I started feeling the patterns, the recurring motifs. After a while, the piece completely surrounded me and for a period of days I heard it constantly in my head, kind of like a soundtrack of my life. There is at least one movement for every kind of mood. Epic, I tell you. 

But to pick ... There are so many great moments ... "Simple song" is a beautiful beginning - Life was simple in the primal days .... "All you can save" contains pretty much the whole spectrum of Stolt's dynamic vocals and ends with one of his greatest guitar solos (especially the live version on "Meet the Flower Kings"). "There's no such night" again has really moving vocals and is a great end of that section before the very calm and slow part. 

But there is something special about "Sunny Lane". Bodin's rhythmic keyboard patterns leads up to a kind of sum-up of all the motifs in the piece together, topped with a great guitar line. It ends with a piece that in an exciting way makes you feel "this is it!" before the very epic climax build-up of "Gardens revisited"-"Shadowland"-"The Final Deal".
