"Jardin de Piedra" is a peruvian psychodelic-metal band that has just released their first studio album "Mapa Universo". This material had been around for more than three years but the death of one of the band members slowed down the process of releasing the album a lot.
the tracks in the album are:
Nebula 6:53
Hora Celeste (Heavinly Hour) 5:27 Nimbos 6:54
Piedras que Arrastra el Mar (Stones Draged by the Sea) 7:21
Cancion de Cuna Para un Mundo Enfermo (Instrumental) [Lullaby for a Deseased World] 3:01
Ruidos Mecanicos en la Luna (Mecanic Noises in the Moon) 9:04
Mandala 10:41
La Desaparicion del Reino de la No Razon (The Disappearance of the Kingdom of No Reason) 13:26
Mapa Universo (Universe Map) 11:02
they are very influenced by bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Tool and A Perfect Circle. They are a great mixture of progressive rock and 90's alternative rock, and they have a great metal sound that is very strong in their songs.
You can hear RMELL, Mandala and Hora Celeste in their MySpace:
Also you can hear LDDRDLNR, PQAEM, Nebula and Mapa Universo here:
I thienk this band belongs to this great site because they are in my opinion the greatest metal band here in Peru and they have an incredible prog and experimental sound that is very rare to find in this country. Edited by Roundabot - May 14 2009 at 23:47 |

OK, I have submitted the band for evaluation to the Heavy Prog team, and have already listened to the three MySpace songs. Very interesting stuff indeed... Now let's wait for my teammates' opinion!

Now that I'm listening to the second half of the album I've just bought, I agree that Heavy Prog should be the first option.
Kind regards.

Sorry for the delay, but real life has a habit of getting in the way of things.... Anyway, I'm happy to inform you that Jardin de Piedra have been approved for addition by the Heavy Prog team, and will be added in the next few days. Thanks again for the suggestion!

Thanks a lot, Cesar! Unfortunately, I had to piece the information from various Spanish-language Internet sources, and the band's lineup was not clear.
