i cant see why, okey there 80s stuff isent prog for one reason one of there founding members Dead himself by an acsident, and after that they struggled to find ther sound ( i like it i bit in a Pop/rock perspectiv) but there early output (i only have Chicago v) but even that is quite awsome A Hit by Varese are a fantastic song.

with 3 vocalists, mixing rock and big band with symphonic elements and wonderfull arangments, not to tak wikipedia to serioussly they are categorised as Jazz/fusion, Pop and Progressive rock.

and Peter Cetera is an underrated bassplayer

and i think its also strange that Norways moust famous Progressive rock band Motorpsycho isnt here.

Chicago have been approved for inclusion by the jazz rock/fusion team.  Micky was in the process of writing the bio when he decided to take a hiatus.  Hopefully, the mood will strike him to return.

If bands like Traffic, Led Zeppelin, The Who and Santana are in here then there's no reason why Chicago can't be in here.  Some of the early stuff was very proggy imo. Let's hope they are included when Micky comes back.

Micky is having computer problems, and both of us took a break because of other personal stuff. We recently had the interview for my Adjustment of Status (i.e. the Green Card), and that put us under a lot of stress. I hope you realize that real-life issues always have to come first. Writing a bio for a band like Chicago, moreover, is definitely not a walk in the park, and requires a person to be at their best. It is not uncommon for similar additions to take some time - we work here for free, remember.

Band in the same vein as Blood, sweat and Tears and If. Not having them in PA would be a crime...

OK, in case someone didn't read Rushfan's post, as well as mine: they have been APPROVED FOR ADDITION. Since Micky (who is my husband, in case someone didn't know) has promised to take care of the addition, you either have the choice of waiting for him to do it (which he will do, even if not tomorrow), or to write up a bio yourself. As simple as that.

I'm a sap for their albums from 16 on. Granted, the earlier stuff is more daring and avant garde, but I was in high school when 17 really took off and liked the poppy stuff. The first one with Jason Scheff (18) is actually quite good. Twenty 1 is another big surprise, as is Stone Of Sisyphus. I got XXX from SwapaCD and it's REALLY poor. Why they got the kid from Rascal Flatts to produce it is far beyond the reaches of my comprehension.

And if anyone is in the mood for great music with a bit of that classic Chicago sound, pick up Robert Lamm's Subtlety And Passion. Amazing disc. Could be the best album Chicago never recorded after Terry Kath died.

I thought that Chicago XXX was decent although admittedly I haven't spun it since the few times I spun it after it first came out.

Jazz Rock/Fusion ?? Ok, they are very jazzy but since they are also often considered pop shouldn't they be in prog related ?
