Anyone heard "Night**ter" by The Wishing Tree? I just heard it, and it kinda sounds similar to Marillion's - the bell in the sea (Seasons end, remastered). It also reminds a bit of hotel hobbies.
..and ofcourse I know that Steve Rothery is the founder of TWT :) anyone else noticed this? Edited by RunawayBoy - May 26 2009 at 16:47 |

btw: I think Marillion rocks with their The bell in the sea. Should've been on the album itself perhaps?

The Bell in the Sea was a cool tune. Although, I thought Season's End flowed perfectly just the way it is. Although I have got used to the CD version which includes "After Me" which wasn't on the original LP version. Maybe I could have got used to The Bell in the Sea being on the album proper too. I agree it's a good song though. Haven't heard The Wishing Tree. Do you recommend?

The Wishing Tree is sweet (Y) Relaxed songs with nice melodies. Hanna Stöbart's vocals is also great, she sounds like an angel :P

The Wishing Tree had a free download of the song Hollow Hills on their website. It is pretty good. I haven't heard the rest of the album yet, but I did download it from emusic yesterday.

If you like Marillion, and Rothery in particular, but also more folky prog bands such as Mostly Autumn and Jethro Tull, you will love Wishing Tree. Ostara is a great album which I thoroughly recommend. |

This probably should have its own thread, but I received this email from The Wishing Tree this morning, so I thought that I would share it here.
The Wishing Tree are delighted to announce that they have signed to Edel
Records/Ear Music (www.ear-music.net). Edel will be releasing our new album Ostara in most territories on the 26th June (in the UK on the 31st August) and we're very excited at the prospect of reaching many new fans with their help. The special edition album version will also feature a live video performance of Fly as well as live audio performances of Fly and Ostara, all recorded at the Marillion Weekend held at Port Zelande, Holland in March this year. To celebrate the launch of the release, The Wishing Tree will be performing live at Bush Hall, London 1st August www.wegottickets.com www.bushhallmusic.co.uk Gasometer, Oberhausen Germany 8th August www.huboonline.de so please come along and support us. The concert at the Gasometer is a cooperation between promoter HUBO and the promoter of the exhibition "Out of this World" DLR, Deutsches Zentrum fur Luft- und Raumfahrt. This is truly a unique venue and more details can be found at www.gasometer.de and www.dlr.de (both sites are in English too). Tickets for this show will be available from 28th May and for London on 1st June We are also considering shows in Zoetermeer on the 7th August and Paris on the 10th August but we do realise that this is right in the middle of the holiday season. Therefore we would appreciate it if you could please email [email protected] to let us know if you are likely to attend either gig so that we can see if it would be feasible to arrange them. See you soon Steve and Hannah |
