The X-Files for sure...although honorable mention must go to BG and ST:TNG
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

House likes The Rolling Stones and Van Halen, and blues, so he's out. I bet he's a psychedelia fan from all the drug he takes.

The Wire plays gansta rap in many episodes, so it's out.

My vote is CSI: Miami. High-technology is always progressive for me, and Miami seems to have quite a few prog bands there?

House did make a reference to Pink Floyd in one episode however.

Exactly.

What kind of stupid poll is this? I would have chosen House easily. Now I don't have the choice.

Lost. The show is very proggy and I also think it will fit in any fan-made music video to the sounds of Pink Floyd.

But remember to always relax to the sounds of young Ray Bennett trying to play Banks-like triplets in Small Begininngs.
Trendsetter win!

The search for nonexistent perfection.

I think I too would vote for the X Files, I have seasons 1-8 and I have rented( is that proper grammar?) 9, but it was nowhere near as good as the first 7 seasons. I have a lot of honorable mentions from this poll though, as well as all those awesome old scifi shows like The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and Tales From the Darkside. I almost forgot Doctor Who.

An interesting note on Star Trek The Next Generation, there was a episode where Data was listening to several classical pieces simultaneously and that inspired the guy who developed Quicktime, which led to the development of MP3.  According to a documentary I saw...

I'm working from memory so I might have something not quite right, but it was The Science Of Star Trek, narrated by William Shatner.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

It may not be the most progressive TV show, but I would also like to mention Monk.

Battlestar Gallactica (the newer version) very thought provoking and a mind blowing premise at the series end. Only bettered imho by Babylon 5. These two programs along with The X Files are my most proggiest moments on TV.
