The expected release date is 23rd September. I will post when I get mine through the post.

The band have already expressed regret that pirated copies, inferior in quality, have been leaked, which is pretty strange given the rather limited number of people with access to it.

Wow, that's a bit of a shocker.  I would never have expected a leak of their new album.  It would indeed appear there is a traitor in the camp.  Very strange and very surprising.  Looking forward to the album anyway, not long to go now.

Oh well, it was waiting for me when I got home from work Friday evening. I had to wait until yesterday for first listen, though, as I was helping t'missus at a do she was running.

Now on train, and it is having a second listen.

This is, I think, one which will require a number of listens before passing judgement, certainly before I review it. Lyrically and musically complex, it most certainly has not been written and performed with hit record in mind

I've listened to the first couple of songs and it's impressive. Best since AoS imo.

F.E.A.R got to No. 4 in the UK album charts today, Marillion's first top 5 album since Clutching at Straws 29 years ago. An incredible achievement! Prog is alive! Prog is relevant!

On tonight's listen, I have finally got it, and am appreciating this album for the work of art and beauty it is. It has taken more than a few listens to get here.

Review will follow in the next week, or so, but this is a mighty fine albumClap

Musically this album is great,  but hearing Steve's voice can be a little boring over the period of the album.

I like F.E.A.R . Apart of my opinion about Fish or H (I am a Fish era huge fan) , This is not one of Marillion's (H era) Top 5 (IMO). I listen to F.E.A.R more than 15 times but more listening didn't work for me and it don't change my first opinion.
For me , Some great musical parts from their 90's albums like "Brave" , "Afraid of Sunlight" (like "King" song in El Dorado),...   that combined with fillers. H voice listened from start to end and its disturbed me in some moments. H didn't let another instruments to listened clearly .
I like this album because I love their early 90's albums (in H era) , Not for their new album!!!

The News Kings is truly amazing; but the other tracks don't click with me.

My signed copy finally arrived at my door step.......

Will take some listens to appreciate fully. This is Marillion, high quality musicians, writing, performance, production. On first listen a bit too melancholy for me, I'm really looking for that hard rocking Marillion...let it loose boys!!

More importantly FEAR is actually prog, not something Marillion have always been guilty of in recent years.

I picked up Fugazi yesterday. I wasn't planning on doing so, but it really is a good album, even though Fish's voice struggles with Punch and Judy.

I still haven't listened to the album.  I've had it for 10 days now but refuse to listen in the car or whatever, or in fact anywhere unless I am in total solitude and the chance to really immerse myself in it.  Anything else just wouldn't be right.

And as for the poster that said H's voice is boring.  Shoot that man, now Wink LOL

^ Boring is a "Perfect definition" for H in F.E.A.R album!
F.E.A.R : F*** Everyone And Run .  Ermm  Emmm ... I think "E" closer to "Ears" than "Everyone"!!!  F*** Ears And Run... LOL

This is what I did last night in my music room.......Spun each LP with no interruptions. I still think I need a couple more sessions like this but I do feel this is a special album. The lyrics are pretty deep, so following along is critical to getting the album meaning.

What I do enjoy is Mark's keyboards are out in front on a lot of the album and some of Steve's solos are exceptional. As always Pete's playing is stellar and Ian is a rock, so under appreciated IMO in the prog world. I listened this morning on the train ride in to work to part of the album....Man there is no comparison to my digital version and my analog vinyl version, I think this is part of me getting the album better, just sitting and spinning the black wax. I plan on more listening this weekend......

H's voice is not boring.......
