lol, sounds just like what Steve Howe had to do when he played with Dream Theater at Ronny Scotts club back in '94.

Oh, how we love the old prog greats, but sometimes they make us laugh. Wink

Dammit, Chastain Park is one of the worst venues.  They usually have tables up front where some well connected local come to sit at tables in front of the folks who are there to see the artist.  And they yack so loud you can't really hear the music well.  An open air venue with nice weather might sound like a good idea, but if there are any musicians out there considering visiting Atlanta on tour, I'd recommend Variety Playhouse.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

My second concert ever was Steely Dan, back in 1973, Can't Buy a Thrill was out, Do It Again was in the top 40, and drugs sex and rock and roll were great. Same nite concert was Steely Dan, Slade, and the Doobie
Brothers, Winterland, May 1973. I have seen Steely Dan 5 times total, all in the 70's. I missed their Boston concert, but plan to see the next one in Boston.

I am sad to report that for the show I went to see at the Beacon, it ranks as one of the most disappointing shows I have ever heard.  Not only wasn't the band tight, but they messed up a number of important parts of the songs (sax/guitar solos).  The mix of the guitars was awful as was the general sound of the show.  The Beacon is a known venue for excellent sound and their sound was muddy, distant and just plain terrible.  It was so bad my friend and I thought there was some kind of sound system malfunction going on that would be remedied in good time but no....   Not good.  I'll just stick to their impeccable studio works...
