The underdog album of canterbury (as i like to think of it lol) has six songs that could each be considered a favorite on the album. I love how Khan's one & only go gradually became a fan favorite here on PA. Which do you prefer?

This is a recent discovery of mine, currently my favorite Canterbury album (though I'm a newbie overall). I'll have to think about a favorite song though.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

It's between "Hollow Stone" and "Stranded".  I will go with "Hollow Stone".

Tough choice; I like them all. I'll go with "Driving to Amsterdam" this time.

I'm with Friede, I like every song on the album nearly equally.  My vote will go for Space Shanty, though, I think.

The opener. I like all of them, but I can actually remember what happens in Space Shanty.

Woah, what a fantastic album! I like them all, but I'll vote for "Driving To Amsterdam" (followed by the first track). Mindblowing music! And I like much more this Hillage than Gong's Hillage.

BTW, I've been looking forward to some live Khan material, but couldn't find anything (as if they never played live...), but I've read somewhere that they've made several concerts before they split up. Does anybody know anything about that?

I voted on "Stranded". I thought that it was a good tune with the anacatesthesia. The melody of Dave Stewart is a good part in Canterbury.

This is such a consistant album that it's tough to pick out one track. My wife actually likes "Stranded",she likes the piano. I'll give  "Mixed Up Man Of The Mountains" a vote, but i could flip a coin really and would be happy with the choice.  Amazing record.

This is such a great album. All songs are equally great, but I'll have to go for the title track because it renewed my little brother's interest in the Canterbury Scene :D

Hey for Canterbury veterans, if this is my favorite, where should I go next? This is nothing like Land of Grey and Pink. I have one Gong album (You) which I like but is still a fair bit different than this.

Suggestions?

weirdly enough, I always think of this album in the same breath as Mainhorse since both were early psyche-rock-primordial prog albums by folks who would later achieve acclaim.

I haven't rightly listened to Mainhorse for awhile, but I remember there being some great songs.  I felt compelled to suggest it, although I don't think it's remotely Canterbury -- Moraz and Canterbury???

There is nothing really like this in the Canterbury canon, IMO.

Next for you should be Egg - The Polite Force.

I voted for 'Stranded', but that's only my current mood. I love all of them, it's one of rare perfect prog rock records, and unique one at that.

I agree with that Clarke, nothing is out of place or missing on this album for me.

Great album! One of the records with the best artwork ever. I prefer the opener "Space Shanty", but I also like the song about Holland. It's nice to get recognised one in a while.
