Seems that Spectrum has an entrancing effect on almost everyone it touches, and yet for all that the rest of Billy Cobham's discography seems basically unknown. Just listening to the so far unreviewed Inner Conflicts on Spotify and it sounds great to me.

Sorry for the rather strait-jacket options... just seemed a strange discrepancy that was probably worth highlighting.

i have all his 70s albums, that's kind of all you need.

i have stuff he's on in the 70s and beyond, but in terms of solo albums, you definitely need at least his first 4 or 5

after Spectrum, Crosswinds came out, and is a competitor for best Cobham album. I like A Funky Thide of Sings, some dont, probably cause it's all jazz-funk (which i like)

Option #2
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Actually, my favorite is on vinyl and hasn't been remastered on CD. It's called Observations and Reflections and it has an outstanding title track called just Observations And... ( or is  it the other way round?). Anyway, it's an amazing fusion number in 9/8 with a very cool melody and great solos. In addition to that I have most of Cobham's career on vinyl and CD. I think he's an incredibly important musician and, as an entertainer, I think he's just wonderful.

I have Spectrum, Total Eclipse and Crosswinds, which I love because it has John Abercrombie on it.

Spectrum, few more from the same time, but try some his more fresh works. He is in perfect form, believe me! I can recommend "Colors" from 2005, a bit different style for sure, but excellent music!

I only have Spectrum and Crosswinds. Total Eclipse has been on my want list for quite a while.  Sounds like I definitely should get A Funky Side of Things too (I love jazz-funk).
