And that's gone too. I'm certainly not saying that I would as I do have a level of self-control, but I feel a little tempted to delete Ragni altogether from the database.

at least a warning and a clean up, although most of his 5 stars are submitted by "members" that have joined ProgArchives during June 2018... that says it all.

strange that most of Marco Ragni's 5 stars reviews are coming from members that joined on the same day of their last visit, it can be a coincidence of course, but...

Scarlet Pimpernell's today's profile...
The usual stuff...
Marco Ragni 12 points. Wins the Eurovision song contest.

Is it against the rules to have a bunch of friends join and vote up your albums? Sounds like a legit and useful stategy to me. Have there been rules written out about this stuff? I'd love to read the details if so.

1.It's the same person, not a bunch of friends.
2.He gives one star ratings to many bands which are in the top 20 albums of the year (the same bands more or less with every profile), in order for Marco Ragni to be no1 and then post a screenshot in his facebook page. And that has unfortunately already happened.

I had a little "fun" with him seen below to which he did not comment...BTW, he was commenting on OUR album in a 3rd person's thread strangely.

So is it Marco Ragni himself creating all these aliases, or does he have a `number one fan' that's trying to impress him?

I was assuming it was the same thing. He's dropped into the 170's since the clean up.

If it was him...well, I've never listened to his music, but despite some good reviewers on there singing his praises, this sort of sh*t just makes me want to dismiss him altogether, especially if it's throwing a whole bunch of other artists under the bus to get more attention.

Agreed, there's a couple of people I like guesting on this one so I gave it a listen but its pretty nondescript.

Too bad for Ragni and his reputation on PA: he had positive reviews from Windhawk, Rivertree or Tzsimay - who I won't suspect from being part of a conspiracy of cheaters!

Someone might wanna check this guy out:

http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=55997&listreviews=chrono&showall=true#reviews

It seems like he used to have a variety of ratings but lately he's done whole discographies with five stars, or mostly fives and some ones. It sort of shifted gradually and then got to the point where he has stuff like what looks like Peter Gabriel's entire discography as all five stars. Maybe its not abuse and just someone who doesn't really know how they're supposed to use the rating system, but it seems a little weird to me. I found it because he's the only person who has currently rated Soft Machine's 2018 album (which he gave five stars), and I decided to check it out since, of course, that album isn't even out yet.
I use they/them pronouns (feel free to ask me about this!)

Check out my music on my bandcamp!

This guy is misusing or abusing the system, and in such cases people rarely know all those albums. That said, I have only deleted his Soft Machine "Hidden Details" rating thus far as I can find no info that he could have listened to a pre-released album (or one given to reviewers) legitimately or not (in both those cases, I would get rid of it). Don't know if I, or another more experienced in dealing with such matters admin, will remove his other ratings, but this is one to watch and consider.

Anyone want to have a look at this guy?

13,500 ratings, 99% of them 5 star! Not a single forum post or review.

It's a strange, strange world (the internet, I mean) - at least the guy/girl eventually left for good more than 3 years ago (but the sillyness lives on)

Did he? It was his last forum login, methinks. Some of his 13000+ ratings are from a later date (Big Big Train's recently released Merchants of Light is also on the list). So I guess the last login in the Collaborators Login Zone, which is necessary for ratings and reviews, is not shown on the Collaborators.asp page.

Edit: Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V... there we go again

He/She must have been in recently, I spotted the entries as he'd rated the very recent new Zevious album.
