For me, buying any music right now would be a huge waste of money.

Especially Magma.
Screw ghost editing. How about a little...

I would just call it a waste of time.

Happy Birthday to mr. Hammill. Cool (61)

I'm gonna play some albums this evening, after I get back from Kammermusikprobe.

Especially Magma.
I probably shouldn't buy more music, but I'm still living with my parents so I will anyway!

But I won't be buying Magma.

I am left baffled as to why Alex and David dislike the new Phideaux album.  I'm just giving it a first listen, but I think that it is quite excellent.

I've put off buying music for now. Mostly because I have a huge pile of records that need more listening to. I don't want to become a morman parent and start ignoring my hundreds of children, do I!?

I went quite crazy with my album purchases last month.  I'd really like to pull back this month, but there are still quite a few new albums that I would like to hear before the end of the year, so that I feel like I have actually heard everything that could possibly be my top rated album of the year.

I already know my #1 for the year - Crack The Skye. No contest.

I don't know that I have an overall favorite for the year yet.  I'm going to have to give Phideaux the 100% listen treatment while reading the lyrics to see if it is worthy or not.  I'll have to do the same with Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater too.  I really enjoyed the new Dream Theater with my last listen.  I have a feeling that my favorite might be the new Transatlantic or the new Beardfish albums or the new The Tangent album if it gets released during 2009.  I am also really excited about the new Shadow Circus album.  An epic tribute to Stephen King's The Stand may be just what it takes to make my number 1 album.

Currently, I have Nemo's Barbares as my top ranked album, but the fact that I can't understand the lyrics (there in French) might be a deterrent to ranking it highest of the year.  The new Wobbler is really good, but loses points for being way to short.  IQ's Frequency has a really good shot.  Astra's The Weirding is definitely up there.  Lobster Newberg's Actress is probably in my top 10.  I also have to re-listen to some "older" albums like Saga's Human Condition and Blind Ego's Numb to see how they compare with the later releases during the year.  Even Rob's Still the Waters is in the running.  I'll have to give that one a couple of more listens too.

I've not heard Crack the Skye. I don't expect that I would enjoy that one, but I probably should give it a listen or two just to see.

I'm not as big into metal as most folks, but I reviewed it and gave it a solid four- really great stuff there, especially in the guitar department.

How did that "e" get in "sky"?

It's a tribute to one of the band members' little sisters, who murdered herself at a young age.  Her name was Skye.  (Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong).
