Well nobody's posted a reply mobby, so here goes from me.

I've always liked Eloy.  Floyd were always my fave band in the 70s/80s so I really couldn't fail with Eloy.  The double live album is terrific.  I've been gradually accumulating all the studio albums, and while Frank's vocals definitely make Eloy an acquired taste, it is well worth persevering as they were (are?) a fine band.

I know nothing of the new one mobby, in fact I've not even got the last two albums, but hell, I thought I'd post a reply as Eloy are well deserving of it.  Do you know the line-up for the new album?

Ocean is my favorite. I never heard Ocean II and I have always been curious about it.  Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes I enjoy. Talk about a contradiction in terms. I never preferred Dark Side OF the Moon or Wish You Were Here but I love Eloy? Confused My brain is wired wrong on that oneWacko   There is a song titled Night Riders that my ole' prog buddy use to play for me. I don't know which album it is from, but it is such a killer rock song or prog rock song I should say.

I'm kind of looking forward to this.  Ocean 2 was half good, and half tedious by my reckoning.  But maybe they'll stick to the good only for this one Big smile

Also, there are a couple of guys from the past performing on the album as well as the most recent lineup (according to the Eloy website).

I thought I remembered reading that Ocean 2 was also a return to their 70's sound?  Can't remember for sure now, but needless to say it wasn't.  However, for anyone that hasn't heard it, it's worth getting even if only for the first 3 or 4 tracks (the first two are the best work by them since the 70's IMO).

Hi Eloy fans! New to the board, but not to Eloy! Can't wait for the new one, the first in 11 years! Not long now.. I love the fact that Hannes Folberth's has a major role on the album too. Great!

I'm looking forward to it, but also trying to be realistic.  Ocean 2 was good but more modern.  Night Riders was from Metromania which is actually one of my least fave Eloys.  I actually prefer their early 80s sound of Colours Planets and Time to Turn, but also love Dawn and Inside, and certainly enjoy Ocean and Silent Cries.

Hi there,
if you haven`t already checked out new Eloy song, you should visit their myspace http://www.myspace.com/official4eloy

It`s name is "The Challenge" and this is radio edit. But what we really got is total and explicit ripoff from "Time to Turn", the same melody and so on throughout almost all that edit. Needless to say I`m worried about their condition. Why would they record the thing that`s almost the same once again? Shame...

I think this was intentionally this way, and the full name of the song is "Time to Turn 2009" or something like that.  Actually it sounds pretty good, as long as they don't plan to do this all the way thru the album.

Ocean II is one of my fave albums and Eloy's best after Time To Turn and Ra.  I have heard Eloy's early stuff but it is like a different band, quite boring IMHO.
