I'd really love to see this.  Shame the flights to Pittsburgh from here are a bit expensive Wink.  I'll have to make do with IQ tomorrow night.

*laughs* I think you'll find a way to survive Roj.  Enjoy the show, that should be a good one.

Thanks buddy, will do.  You enjoy the AOM/Karmakanic too, I expect that will be out of this world.

Oh, and by the way, if you get the chance of a word with Roine, ask him when we can expect a new Flower Kings album Wink.

^  Already in my plans my friend, though I'm not going to be too greedy, new Transatlantic is a good goal for this year.  I'm hoping to pick up a copy of that at the show.

Well, as you know Roland, I'll be at the Pittsburgh show as well.  Hopefully we'll get to meet up.

As to word of a new FK album, I really can't afford all the stuff they are putting out now, so I hope they'll wait a few months before putting out a new FK album LOL

^ We'll have to make a point of it.  I got my advance ticket stubs and we are numbers 119 and 120 so there will be a few people there, but not an unbearable amount.  In theory my wife and I will be there in time for the free wings, always a good thing.

It is starting to look like I might be able to attend the one here in Detroit.  If the Tigers make the playoffs it looks as though the games here will be on October 10th and 11th unless there are any rainouts (or snowouts).  Although if it goes to Game 5, it might be on the 13th in New York, so it might be hard for me to miss that game, even if on TV.

^  Yeah, those of us from Pittsburgh are very happy with two thirds of our professional teams, we don't really need to worry scheduling anything around the baseball playoffs . . . ever

Hi, I just received my copy of your Who's the Boss in the Factory CD. Stunning music of couse.

My question is, the inlay graphic seems to be in strange colors, i.e. all the spread is printed with grey color background with lyrics and credit texts almost unreadable (except a few words). Is this intentional or is my copy a defect? I visited its website and the background seems to have graphical techniques to the background thing with my cd artwork, which makes me think it could be intentional. But then again, i can't read a whole lot of thing so why bother buying the cd?

I also posted this on their website, and will check their response.

Just saw them Saturday and with Nick D'virgillo on drums all I am going to say is you are all in for treat.  I will whet your appetites with this tidbit:
I have seen some technically brilliant keyboardists in my time but Lalle Larrson may have been the best.  He was amazing.  There is a keyboard solo that he plays in the Karmakanic set (sorry I don't have the song name it will be in fusion style)  He and Nick just play off of each other making eye contact the whole time.  Remember now, these two just met last Friday and had all of 2-3 hours of rehearsal.  I spoke to Nick after the show about that moment he just said "Its the Music and of course it helps when you are playing with a f**king Brilliant musician. Lalle sid the same about Nick Wink
Anyway, Have a great time for those who will be seeing the upcoming East Cost shows.

Cool, thanks for the head's up Garion.  I'm really looking forward to the Pittsburgh show on Wednesday.

One of the amazing thing about progressive rock shows is the accessibility of the musicians.  The ability to let someone know how important their music is to me is very gratifying from a fan's perspective.  Off handed comments like 'Nick said this' followed by 'and then Lalle agreed' is just a phenomenal testament to the musicians themselves for sharing the time after the show with the fans.

Clap

This why i love going to festivals but especially Calprog.  The theater holds just under 400 and the merch table is 25 yards from the backstge area so musicians just hang out with fans ll through the day.  Roine Stoldt was out on the patio catching some of Tom Brisilin's solo set.  Tom is one of my favorite people.  Here is a guy who played with Yes and yet still relates a story of his favorite musician Rick Wakeman.  He said "I had my picture taken with him it was like Gandalf standing next to Frodo."  Another great line was when he saw Roine listening to him  "Every band I play in will have Ronie Stoldt and everyday will be Calprog."

We hung out at the Radisson with members of It Bites and Toutchstone till 1:30 in the morning after the gig on Saturday (Britts love to party).  Honestly i have a lot of admiration for people who regularly attend two day fests.  That second days first act must be really tough to get up for.

I had the pleasure of seeing this show in Beilefeld, Germany, at the start of the Euro tour, I just happened to be in Germany on vacation
There was perhaps a total of 40 people at the show, which was in a small club and it was fantastic.
I had the chance to talk with Roine for 10 minutes in the hallway during the intermission, and I had lenghty chats with Jonas both before and after the show.
They are both great musicians and excellent, approchable fellows.
