Who said so?

I never intended to be serious with this poll.

But a more correct poll would have, as you say, Light of Day, Day of Darkness and Amarok. Plus anymore genuine disc-long tracks.

I don't see SDOIT as one track. If it had been released on vinyl on its own it would be considered a concept album...imo.

I've never heard of those songs. I'm a beginner as regards prog.

I have no problem with your poll...its up to you waht you put.Wink

Om Riff from the Cosmic Inferno for me.  Tongue I haven't heard either of the songs in the poll, and I'm not planning to hear the Dream Theater piece as I'm generally not a fan of their music, so I'll not vote.

I'm gonna be another jerk and point out that the real answer here is Thick as a Brick. But out of the two....hm....

Six Degrees has been a favorite of mine for some time now, but The Incident is what I'm currently in the mood for and the record I would rather listen to RIGHT NOW.

Hm....I vote the Incident. After all, I'm not voting on my opinion from 2 years ago...

Why would you make a poll called "Favourite disc-long song" and only include two options? It´s like saying "Who´s a bigger c**t?" and only include Madonna and Mariah Carey... when there are so, so many more!!!

Great choice! Another option would be Pat Metheny's THE WAY UP: even more epic, and closer to prog rock than to jazz. But in the end I prefer A PASSION PLAY, which I've loved since 1975 (in spite of a few embarrassing moments).

I absolutely agree. ' Light of Day Day of Darkness' by Green Carnation would win this poll hands-down if it was included.

The thread tltle is very misleading, because the two options are not representative of many people's favourite disc-long songs.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

I went for 'Six...', because 1) I haven't heard The Incident and 2) it's an awesome song.
