I have a question about Gryphon

yah of course, totally agree with you... but I was just wandering why Gryphon was clasified as a Prog Rock band, if there's no rock at all, based on what I've listened to.

That's quite an interesting point of view man, but since rock is a kinda new genre (compared with other prog rock influences as classical music) I can't really see how to go farther rock-wise, if you know what I mean.

I have all of Gryphon's studio albums, and there's certainly sufficient rock for me to easily put it under the Progressive Rock category (I like all of their albums, by the way).  The first album is the least rock.  Treason is very much a rock album.

They're classified as prog folk. Progressive Rock has broadened into progressive music since the term was originally coined. There are plenty of bands here on PA that could not be classified as "rock" even in the loosest definition of the word. I hope that clears some things up.
