We just posted some new clips from the album as the masters are becoming available...The new clips really showcase a heavier side of the band, especially on "Hand of God" and "Willoughby" (which, btw, is based on the legendary Twilight Zone episode, in case there are any Rod Serling fans here):

I've heard a couple of the advance tracks and if the rest of the album is like that then whoa!

I don't normally go for new  " prog " bands but these guys have captured the spirit of the genre. They remind me of what Marillion did in the early eighties when we all thought prog was dead. Very unique and forward looking with definite nods to the past. I kinda like the past.

Just dropping in for a quick update - I am sending a newsletter today to everyone who ordered that shipment of the CD's is delayed until November 12th. The good news is, this extends the pre-order, so there's still time to get it at the discounted price!

While awaiting the next batch of CD's (the first one sold out!), we are offering a digital download of the entire CD for $7.99, a choice of FLAC or hi-quality mp3 (320 kbps)...

This just in - we have just started a holiday special to promote the CD and contribute to charity as well:

Donate $10 to the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), and get the digital download version of Whispers and Screams for free! More details at http://www.shadowcircusmusic.com.

Help spread the word!

I'm not much of a fan of the music, or the font on your album cover, but props to you for streaming the full album. Wouldn't it also be a good idea to extend to other charities as well? I'm not opposed to ASPCA, but I feel that there are more pressing issues in the world than animal cruelty...

Honestly, I have gotten many notes form people who thought it was a good idea, but one week later there hasn't been a single donation...At best, I got a few notes from people who said that they already donated at some point in the past, and so now want a free album for having done so.

LOL, Henry, the font, really?

Yeah, I think the writing (I misspoke, I don't think it's actually a font even though the e's are copied) for Whispers and Screams is silly. Shadow Circus is a pleasing cursive so that's OK, and more suited to the music contained within. I'm not a typeface nerd or an aesthete, but I do like to try to tell when things are good or bad, and that is the type of style that looks like it belongs on a DeviantArt picture. Not that the art itself is bad, but the ugly JAGGED INTENSE WRITING jump out at you.

Somehow, it doesn't surprise me that nobody's taken you up on your offer when you also offer $7.99 downloads. ;-)

Also, if you wrote the intro to Captain Trips, that was definately the best part that I listened to, after that it sort of got into things that I don't like.

Thanks, Henry, actually I do see what you mean about the font - as a composer of the music, such things are not so obvious to me...It's hard for me to see the forest through the trees, especially after so much time crafting each and every leaf! :-)

Thank you for the complement on the intro, that is indeed mine...There are a few other moments like that, such as the intro to Horsemen Ride and The Hand of God - based on your taste the only track I might recommend to you from this would The Hand of God - purely instrumental and very little repetition or anything resembling a standard song structure, but other than that I would think that this is, on the whole, more of a traditional rock album for your taste...

No, wait, The Seduction of Harold Lauder is fairly twisted and maybe you would appreciate the insanity it is designed to convey, but it's not without it's share of repetition and nods to ELP...

Good point about the price of the download vs. the charitable donation! This is all an interesting lesson in marketing... Maybe we need you on our senior advisory committee! (not even kidding as much as I may sound like I am - I really do appreciate your thoughts very much)...

I'm downloading the Flac now. But I do donate to the local SPCA, here in Moncton NB Canada. As for the dollar difference in the download vs the donation, does the donor still get a tax receipt ?

Thanks for buying the FLAC, I hope you enjoy it!

I'm not sure what we can do about the tax receipt - one thing that made me think of doing this for the ASPCA is that they don't seem to accept any donations under $30, so I thought that by pooling them together, we could enable many people to make small donations that they couldn't do otherwise...In any case, we'll let the offer roll until the New Year as promised, but I'd like to bring back the idea of charity in something else we do later down the line...I think it would be great if more bands and businesses of all kinds figured out ways to do things like this...

I say we sick a few stray Rottweillers on them !
Maybe a short message from Cesar Milan added to the "ad" would generate more donations.
