True story - when the new Dream Theater album showed up, I didn't get to listen to it that night because I have a wife (who doesn't appreciate my music) and two small kids. So I woke up the next morning (a Saturday I might add) at 5am, unable to go back to sleep because I couldn't stop thinking about what was waiting for me...so I got up and listened to the whole thing on headphones in the dark before anyone else was up!

I was wondering if anyone knew what this "Genesis" song is. I like it a lot, could it be real?

I don't think it is ... the vocalist sounds nothing like Peter and musically, its very similiar to The Beatles.

Dude, why are you posting the same thing in few different threads? Wacko

On the topic: ... when you can solve a real estate class exam problem with Peter Gabriel's thoughts resounding on 'Get 'Em Out by Friday'.

..when a random new melody starts playing in your head while you're in a store, and as you start humming to it you realize it's in 13/8 (happened to me the other day)
You love the music, the music loves you!

When you tell your friends your favorite bands and they spend the next 5 minutes going what and who?
When you tap your toe to the beat and immediately start thinking "When does the good part start?"
When you want to name your son Rick after Rickenbacker.
When you think "These lyrics make no sense, must be a concept album."
When Your favorite music can clear a room.
When someone says Nirvana and you think of the 60's british psych band.
When you can't find the lead singer because you see no one wearing make-up or a flower outfit.

- you're surprised, and happy at the same time (you know, you get that warm feeling insideEmbarrassed), when you find a lot of prog albums in the pop/rock section in one of the biggest record stores in town.

I mean, when did prog get considered pop music, again?Shocked

- you're dissapointed when you find out that none of the Exmagma members has ever been a member of Magma.

- you're dissapointed when you find out that the programme you're watching on telly is Pawn Stars, not Pawn Hearts, and that it is not a documentary about the album.

When someone on TV says "Childlike Faith" and takes a long pause, and you shout out "In Childhood's End?!?" a la MST3K, yet everyone in the room looks at you like you're nuts.
