You know you are a prog addict when:
You stop making stupid comments about how everything but classic rock sucks, and you get a bit of diversity in your music taste.

This is exactly what happened to me.  No lie.  I used to despise all modern rock - it wasn't until I found out that modern prog existed that I actually started paying attention to new bands.  If it weren't for prog, I'd still be a whiny classic-rock fanbrat.

Being a prog addict is absolutely not a bad thing.

... when someone in the vehicle you are in uses a turn signal, it goes "tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-...", and you just can't help but tap to it 'cause now you have "Dancing with the Moonlit Knight" in your head." Just happened to me. True story.

When someone says something nasty about your mother, you take it in stride and turn the other cheek.  But when someone suggests that [insert your favorite keyboardist here] isn't as good as [insert your least favorite keyboardist here], you whip out a switchblade and gut them right there on the spot.  Because progressive rock is SERIOUS BUSINESS.

When you start a dairy business and the name you choose is Henry's Cow.

When there's a debate in government about national health and you are amazed nobody talks about On Queues and Cures.

That's what my mother sad of my music when she heard Popol Vuh's "Ah!" and PF's "A Saucerful of Secrets" (the track) - "music for the insane ones".

When you get disappointed at a gig because the keyboard player's using a modern Hammond, instead of a proper B3 (and a computer programme instead of a real mellotron).

AND the bloody guitarist doesn't use a double neck

Sorry? You mean no-one in the band has a beard?

Well, OK the vocalist does, but really.... she should shave

WOT? No bass pedals???

YOU CALL THAT A DRUM KIT?????????

You see an ad on TV for 'Songs from the 80s' and immediately think of Univers Zero.

I can totally relate to that one!
"Time Life presents the RIO collection, hosted by Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon because the name sort of sounds similar and he's done one of those Time Life thingies before."
I'd die happy if they made that. LOL
