All of VDGG's Pawn Hearts. That'll scare away the ones I don't want in attendance.

First thing that comes to mind would be Sanvean (I am your shadow) by Lisa Gerrard. Maybe not prog but appropriate for the occasion.

Life is a Long Song (but the tune ends too soon for us all).

Not sure. I think Pink Floyd's "the great gig in the sky" is supposed to be about death and I suppose there are worse ones but as good as it is I'm not sure it's the one I would pick. Maybe "the song is over" by the Who or "to be over" by Yes. Neither one is actually about death though. I don't know if I would want a song about death. I've also heard people say they want the song "never the same" by Echolyn at their funeral. Also, I've heard people say they would chose the title track to "close to the edge." For me I'm not sure. It's not something I think about much.

Nick Drake - Day is Done

Fairport Convention - Who Knows Where the Time Goes

The Beatles - Goodnight

Not prog but seem appropriate.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

'The March' by Henry Cow - apparently it was their way of getting out of things...

It wouldn't be a prog song for me. I'd choose the 4th movement of Mahler's 9th symphony.

So right! It's gotta be Fripp. And, it's gotta be "Requiem" (from King Crimson, 'Beat'). Maybe it's a cop-out, because a 'requiem' is a song for someone who has died. But, it's not a classical requiem - it's a prog (Fripp!) requiem...

Let's put that piece in option if we happen to die after a short, violent agony. Funeral attendees will be impressed at how appropriate "Requiem" feels, won't they !!

It was an amazing 15 pages of posts before someone mentioned what I thought would have been the obvious:

Yes - Awaken

(also really enjoyed someone going for Gong - A Sprinkling Of Clouds)

Regards,

Frank

Bohemian Rhapsody or The Prophet Song by Queen  :-)

If that cannot be arranged, then "Knots" by Gentle Giant   ;-)

Or Suppers Ready  :-)
