Fantastic album! I loved the techno-sounding "Binary Choices" section of Slow Rust; the lyrics about them putting Coca-Cola in your taps made me chuckle. "And if you want WATER then you're a TRAITOR/Because the MAJORITY voted for The Real Thing™" With its cast of abstract characters, scenes and whatnot, Slow Rust seems like one of Peter Gabriel's mini-play songs he did with Genesis, like Get 'Em Out By Friday and The Battle of Epping Forest.

Another thing that must be mentioned is Marie-Eve de Gaultier's vocals. They do add a quite special touch to the album.

Got my copy this morning, seems good as usual but needs a few more listens.

You guys should check out Guy Manning's Damanek and their new CD - it's seriously good.

I'll have to give Tangent a listen.  I have not heard any of their stuff (that I can remember).  I do have a Parallel or 90 Degrees CD which I always enjoyed, but have not listened to it in quite a while.

STILL waiting for my pre-pre-ordered copy to arrive.  It's not the bands fault though, as it was sent at the same time as everyone else's.  Just the slowly deteriorating US Postal service (I think my mail carrier skips our house some days for whatever reason).  Hopefully will have it very soon.

The new album is leaving me a little cold. Too political? Maybe. Or maybe I just prefer Andy talking about the music industry more than Syrian refugees.

I also love The Tangent.  Andy is very talented.  Anyone new to The Tangent can start with any album.  However, I say you may as well start with the latest and work backwards since the new album is terrific.

I'm not sure about starting off with the latest as a first-time Tangent listener. Political lyrics might put them off and stop them from discovering the wonderful treasures contained herein. But certainly any of the other albums are fine as a first introduction.
