FROM VENETO...

Il Fedelissimo Bracco Branco came to life in 2013 in Motta di Livenza, a small town near Treviso, when Guido Morossi (drums) and Loris Ceccato (bass) teamed up with Federico Panighel (accordion, keyboards, lead vocals) to play original compositions inspired by classic and progressive rock. In 2014 guitarist Stefano Crovato joined them and, after a good live activity on the local scene, in 2017 the band self-released an excellent debut album entitled Appunti di navigazione (Navigation notes), a conceptual work dedicated to the sea. In my opinion it’s an excellent work, fresh and rich in ideas. The use of accordion and the theatrical vocals give a particular touch of colour to pieces where vintage echoes are perfectly blended with more modern sounds while the packaging and booklet are enhanced by Erika De Pieri’s wonderful paintings that in some way convey the musical content into visual art...

FROM LAZIO...

Ælementi come from Rome and have been active for more than ten years before realising their debut album. Formed in 2007 and led by guitarist and composer Daniele Lulli, all along this time they have honed their skills and tried to find a personal way to merge different influences ranging from Italian prog bands such as Banco del Mutuo Soccorso or Premiata Forneria Marconi with newer, heavier sounds inspired by likes of Rush or Shadow Gallery. In 2017 they finally managed to release their debut work, entitled Una questione di principio (A matter of principle), thanks to the interest of the independent labels Lizard Records and Andromeda Relix. On the album, the line up features along with Daniele Lulli (guitar) also Francesca Piazza (vocals), Manuele D'Anastasio (drums) and Angelo Celani (bass) plus the guests Dario Pierini (keyboards), Giordana Sanfilippo (backing vocals) and Carlotta Sanfilippo (backing vocals) while the nice art work is provided by Maria Chiara Santoro. The overall sound blends vintage and modern with strong melodic accents and a slight leaning to AOR that is worth listening to, especially if you like other Roman bands such as Magnolia, Layra or Laviàntica...

FROM LAZIO...

Algot Blackfisk (according to the band, the name was picked out from an Ikea catalogue) come from Rome and were formed in 2012, initially under the name of Arbre Magique Project, on the initiative of Jacopo Perrone, Thomas Perrone, Giulio Guidotti and Massimiliano Cardelli. After some personnel changes, long rehearsals and some gigs on the local scene, in 2018 the band finally self-released a debut album entitled Catalogue Break with a line up featuring Alessandro Grazzi (keyboards, vocals), Giulio Guidotti (vocals, trumpet), Jacopo Perrone (guitar), Massimiliano Cardelli (bass) and Thomas Perrone (drums)... It’s an interesting album where dark atmospheres prevail and the particular baritone voice of Giulio Guidotti and his trumpet add a touch of mystery and exoticism to the compositions...

Soon after the album was released Alessandro Grazzi and Massimiliano Cardelli left the band and where replaced by Alessandro Nicotra e Francesco Argentati. The name of the band was shortened in Algot and the music veered to math rock with Italian lyrics. But this is another story...

^^^^ It's not an easy task! For instance, the album Cuma 2016 D.C. might be included in Il Balletto di Bronzo's discography... or should not?

FROM CAMPANIA...

Il Balletto di Bronzo di Lino Ajello e Marco Cecioni (featuring Gianni Leone), from Naples...
