I think these two albums are pretty similar and both are obviously masterpieces. Which do you like better and why?

I prefer Brain Salad Surgery slightly, mainly because of "Karn Evil 9." and "Jerusalem."

If were talking Camel's Mirage, I can't see the similarity. But I prefer Mirage, even though I like BSS a lot too.

BSS is great, but Mirage is just fabulous, so it gets my vote.

Camel's mirage. ok. I dont compare these albums. I love both. but Mirage is specific for me. this album has a masterpiece song called " Lady Fantasy ". I think LF is first song that have neo-prog elements ( for me). the instrumental parts of LF is very powerful and instruments played in high class. this song is " too-prog". but i cant cross over BBS easily. BBS is masterpiece too. "Kern Evil 9" and " Jerusalem" are in my top 10 of "cross over" sub-genre songs. This is not a good idea to choose one of them but " Mirage " nearest to me.

After about a year I decided to give Mirage another spin, only a day before I noticed this thread! I had almost forgotten how fantastic the intro of Lady Fantasy is. The White Rider also is one of Camel's best and both Earthrise and Supertwister are some of the best istrumentals I know. Probably my favorite Camel album, though the Snow Goose is pretty great too. Never been much into ELP though, so I can't really say anything spicificly about Brain Salad Surgery. They just don't do much to me, though I like some of their music.

MIrage, without a doubt. I see no negative
in the entire album.
BSS has a few points that get a bit annoying to me.
ALso, I think BSS has got a bit dated (although I still
enjoy it).

Pretty similar?
Please, Mirage is like Ativan and Brain Salad Surgery is like adrenalin.
There's no connection between both, I find Mirage absolutely boring while BSS is a masterpiece.
Can't stand 5 minutes of Mirage, while BSS is among my favourites.

Mirage over anything by ELP, with the exception of Trilogy(the album).
However, I do find Brain Salad Surgery to be a groundbreaking album unlike Mirage, but the question was which I liked most so like I said at the beginning, I would take Mirage no doubt.

Camel is art and sentimental prog. Mirage is a masterpiece, as the most of their excellent albums.
BSS is good, but ELP stand besides Camelīs feet.

While I don't see any similarity between the two, they are both great and that makes the choice tough here. BSS gets my vote, but just barely.
