Yes for sure.

Very, very few musicians have the courage and conviction to play from their hearts.

I'll choose Rush that year.  I like what I've heard from Drama despite the fact Anderson isn't there.  I like how Trevor Horn's voice sounds in the context of the material he helped work on, but I'd much rather see Yes with Anderson.

I'd love to see Rush play a set with lots of Permanent Waves material on it, being one of my favorite Rush albums.  I like Tom Sawyer, but it would be interesting seeing them not play that one (it's 1980, so that it pretty much out of the question unless they are debuting it before the next album).

Rush it is!!

I like the style of Rush at that point more than the sound of Drama, so Rush for me.

At that time I probably would have gone to see Rush. Now I would be kicking myself for not seeing Yes with Trevor Horn.

I think "Permanent Waves" is a great album, but I enjoy "Drama" much more so, so I'd go see Yes instead.

I'm going to see Yes.  Rush always puts on a good show, but the Drama tour was pleasantly surprising.   Not as shockingly good as the Tormato tour, but there won't be anything worth seeing from Yes again until ABWH hit the road.

I'd say Yes even though I'm more of a Rush fan just because the best was still yet to come for Rush.

[added in the rest of my post as I prefer not to have them snipped]

Come to think of it, no matter which would have the better concert, I'd rather see Yes even though I don't care for those 1980 albums, but I'd rather hear Yes' classics.  Rush has played Vancouver many times (don't know how many times Yes has played here but, bad concert or not, Yes would be a more memorable experience methinks.

Certainly, I have thousands of them, and please, call me Greg. Perhaps you're only interested in the minority where I do mention that band, so that's your problem, not mine.  Thanks. Wink And please don't snip my posts.

The year is actually 2009. If you can hold on long enough the year will be 2010.

A penny for my thoughts and yet I have to put my two cents in. What the hell is wrong with this equation?

I love Drama - but a tour in support of my all time favorite album is no contest.

In the mid 70s I would have chosen Yes easily, but for this time period I'd attend the Rush show.  Plus Rush must have had some killer gigs at this time.

I couldn't have spent $ to see either band in 1980 (I had no $), but Permanent Waves is a great album.

How would you have known that 'the best was still yet to come for Rush'?
