I'm sure it's been done before. Here's another one of those "hit compilation" threads. You can include the latest songs this time! You can also write a list that is intentionally bad(and/or funny), I'll show you how.

I'll post two glaring examples.

Decades -- Dream Came True: Selected Highlights from 1989 to 2009

1. Pull Me Under

2. Solitary Shell

3. Sacrificed Sons

4. Hollow Years (Tokyo live version)

5. The Dark Eternal Night

6. When Dreams And Days Unite

7. Battery (Metallica cover)(Mexico bonus track)

8. Money (Pink Floyd cover)(UK bonus track)

Porcupine Tree - Somewhere We Arrived

Disc 1

0. Insurgentes (Steven Wilson solo track)(hidden track)

Chapter One: In Absentia

1. Trains

2. Blackest Eyes

3. The Sound of Muzak

4. Drown With Me

Chapter Two: Deadwing

5. Halo

6. Lazarus

7. Arriving Somewhere (2009 radio edit)

Chapter Three: Fear of a Blank Planet

8. Way Out of Here

9. Fear of a Blank Planet (with audio commentary by Robert Fripp)

Disc 2

Finale: The Sky Moves Sideways

10. The Sky Moves Sideways Phase 1

11. Stupid Dream

12. The Sky Moves Sideways (Alternate Version)

13. The Sky Moves Sideways Phase 2

As you can see, my lists were intentionally bad. Because I want you to outdo me!

I'm sure that's a high quality list, though I don't recognize any of the songs.

Keep on the good work, PA members!

I don't think it has been done, it does ruin the song. My compilation had to be full of hits though... Embarrassed

This kind of makes me wonder actually. Are there people who buy KC compilations (except collectors)?

I like to listen the albums in the way they were originally released, so this would be my choice without betraying my beliefs:

Trespass / Nursery Cryme / Foxtrot - album cover

The Very Best of Genesis: 6 Disc Special Edition
By Jeff

Disc One: Trespass

Disc Two: Nursery Cryme

Disc Three: Foxtrot

Disc Four: Selling England By The Pound

Disc Five: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Disc 1

Disc Six: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Disc 2

Big smile

I hate the whole point compilations in general, (I'd much rather hear an entire album) so I'd figured I'd create one worth buying for a person like me.

No it wouldn't. There's too much Lateralus. You should reduce to 3 Lateralus tracks, 4 at most.

Some Van Der Graaf Generator Album:

1. Gog 7:40
2. Rock and Rôle 6:41
3. A Louse Is Not a Home 12:31
4. (In The) Black Room/Tower 11:22

Total time: 38:14

Ok, not really a greatest hits album, but I thought this was worth being mentioned. If VDGG wouldn't have split up for a few years after Pawn Hearts an album like this probably would have been made. All these songs sound more like VDGG songs than Peter Hammill solo songs, and some of them also were meant to appear on a VDGG album which was never made. The songs fit in on Peter Hammill's solo albums perfectly, but if VDGG released an album like this it would definitely be one of my favorite albums ever.
