Years later, finally people figured them out and of course, by that time the band had gained a reasonable degree of mainstream popularity, meaning of course it was the right time for people who didn't have the testicular fortitude to innovative and do something different like they did to just merely do their own take on FNM's sound and without being good either.
Their band changed the face of music forever and their influence can be heard in countless number of bands.

Mike Patton is a name now synonymous with innovation in music. Never has he been involved in a musical project that hasn't been about pushing the boundaries and bringing something new to the table.

Like it or not, FNM and Mike Patton have and will always have far more cultural significance in music compared to Wolfmother.
And anyone that honestly believes Mike Patton was being totally serious in that video, well, shows how much you know about him. The guy doesn't take himself too seriously and it's reflected in a lot of his lyrics.
I really wouldn't take what he said in the video to heart, because it's plain to see it's not the intention.

And you know what?
Countless numbers of musicians have said a****le-ish things, either intentionally or light heartedly.
Eric Clapton has said some rather dumb and insulting things, Alexi Laiho is known as a guy who bashed on Dream Theater in an interview several years ago and hell, even one of the nicest guys in rock and roll, guitar legend Paul Gilbert has said a****le-ish things, even if never in an interview.
I have no doubt in my mind at some point, the members Wolfmother have said some less than nice things about other people, bands.
Just because it hasn't been captured on video/audio doesn't make them inherently better people.
I know I've said some things that were particularly nasty to other people.
It might have been because I was having an off day, maybe I genuinely meant it or maybe it was because it was a light hearted thing someone took to heart and got upset over it.
It happens folks and I'm sure you'd all be lying if you said to me right now that every single thing that's come out of your mouths has always been nice.

Apologies for going off at a completely fruitless tangent but that has got to be the euphemism of the century. Quite brilliant. Clap

BALLS

Equality, you are a true jerk. Believing that someone is an idiot for liking a certain band is an act of jerkiness, and a****le-iness. Have a bad life.

I had to edit my post, because I ran out of ***s
I was going to use the letter A instead, but then I thought "hell, what will they think I'm censoring if I write "AAAAAAA", or "aaaaaaa", or even worse "AAAA AAA!".
What can you do, eh ...
