Hi guys,

I know it is not full out Prog, more Psych if anything.  But there are many cool keyboard riffs / guitar riffs a la Zeppelin, Deep Purple, 70s style from this band.  Overall, a great vibe.  I am reviewing their new album "Cosmic Egg" and it's worth checking out.  Their first album "Wolfmother" is one of my favorites .

What do you guys think of this band?

They were one of the first bands I really loved. I remember getting this for my birthday back in 2007, t'was mindblowing.

I like them. I liked their first album, although it was a bit too long IMO, too many songs. I haven't heard the new one yet, except for a couple of songs wich sounded good, although a bit different, I've heard the only original member still in the band is the singer, is that true?

In the end the love you take is equal to the love you made...

It is, sadly. I have also, yet to have heard the new album. How is it?

I liked them more when they were called Led Zeppelin.

Well the first name that Stockdale was considering was The Deep Zeppelin Sabbath Experience.

Can't stand their unoriginality, seriously.

Very, very few musicians have the courage and conviction to play from their hearts.

Ditto.
Take a look at what I dig: Here's what I'm listening to & here are my albums.

Especially because they're more Deep Purple than Zeppelin.

That sounds like the title of an Acid Mothers Temple album. LOL

I initially liked the first album, bought it without ever hearing it on a recommendation. It's fun enough. Bigelf does the same thing much better though.

Anyone who says anything bad about Patton around here will be drawn and quartered. But in his case I'm not sure if "gets high on his own urine" is an insult.
Current Listening:

Devin Townsend: Addicted and Synchestra
Cynic: Focus
Dead Soul Tribe: Murder of Crows
Sieges Even: Navigating by the Stars
Ansur: Warring Factions
Gentle Giant: Power Glory

I've looked up a lot of neo-psychedelia/shoegaze/etc. and I've listened to Wolfmother, but I haven't really gotten into them. I prefer early (when they had long songs laden with fuzz and wah pedal) Dead Meadow over any other neo-psychedelic band.
That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange aeons even death may die.

I have a copy of the first album.  I first heard the song "Woman" on some channel playing videos by up-and-coming groups, and I loved the song, probably because of rather than despite its apparent derivativeness.  The rest of the album is more of the same, but it gets a bit numbing after a while.  Haven't given it many repeat spins.
