Came out today and I have already listened to it a few times now. WOW! This is by far my Album of the Year choice at this point!
Ashland, in my opinion, does a killer job and is the perfect person to take over the vocals moving forward. His voice just "fits" exactly what this album needed. I will be cranking this up all day, there's sooooo much musically to this to soak in. Anyone else get it yet? |

I received in the mail a few days ago. As a big Shadow Gallery fan I had high hopes for the album. Unfortunately, after several listens, I'm dissappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high, but Digital Ghosts doesn't grab me like, for example, the excellent Tyranny. I'm not saying it's a bad album, it's not, but I just don't like it as much as I hoped I would.

my first couple of listens I wasn't sure what to make, there is a lot musically going on and they did expand their boundaries on this one. But by the 3rd listen I was convinced and hooked that this was freaking awesome! So maybe a few more listens?

Woohoo I got it and transatlantic ;) I really really like Ashland's voice. I am a pretty big Crimson Glory fan and his voice reminds me a lot of Midnight's (R.I.P) I know with more listens it can only get better. So far my favorites are Haunted and 'Digital Ghosts'.
Rasvamakkara...I don't know about you but it took me like 30 listens to really get the feel of Tyranny and even more listens to become my favorite. This album I feel is goign to take a 100 listens to get a real grasp on it...if not more! There are so many different sounds and layers like a twenty layer cake...it's delicious ;)

Shadow Gallery have until now been one of those bands i've been aware of but never took the plunge to buy anything until Digital Ghosts. After 3 plays it's not bad at all...pretty good but I'm not blown away. I'll give it a few more listens before deciding if i want to start buying their back catalogue. I'm certainly interested enough to want to at least hear more. |

Wow, this has really grown on me. i like their strong emphasis on melody which isn't overshadowed by their obvious musical dexterity. Now it's time to delve into the back catalogue I think.
