Towards the end of an important decade for progressive rock.Punk emerged on the scene supposedly "killing prog" here's some of PA's top rated albums of 1977 and on reflection there were some great prog albums at that time.

Just kidding, but seriously, I pick Animals. And no I haven't heard all of them, but I probably never will, so I might as well vote anyways.

"A Farewell To Kings" will always be a special album for me.My first RUSH album too. Bought the LP downtown in Toronto as a 16 or 17 year old. I would then get "Hemispheres" when it came out(on cassette), then "2112" on cassette.

NH debut, but would have probably picked Univers Zero 1313 if it were on the list.

Me too, though had Kew Rhone also been included, I would've given it to Kew Rhone.

What a great year!  I gave my vote to Anthony Philips after tossing a 14 sided coin. Yes, Tull, Al di Meola, Camel, Eloy, Pink Floyd, Grobschnitt, Supertramp, Kansas, Jean-Luc Ponty, Rush, Alan Parsons, Weather Report, Renaissance.  Yow!  Big smile

Confusion will be my epitaph.

If we make it we can all sit back and laugh.
But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying,
Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying

Animals. But the list is strong enough, so 1977 wasn't so bad?

Going For The One, Forse Le Lucciole, National Health, Feels Good To Me... hardly a swan song to prog. Great year!

In line with this list: Going for the One, now that Klaus Schulze's Mirage album is not on your list.
