One of the many rarities of the great Vertigo catalogue, this is a good instrumental jazz-prog album; BEN reminds me to the most famous jazz-rock bands such as NUCLEUS and SOFT MACHINE. here are 4 long tracks( the first one "The Influence" is a suite divided in 7 movements),  excellent musicianship and lots of flute, keyboards, sax and guitars. The weakest parts here are the vocals but the rest is pretty good and well played. I own a copy of the album on LP (2003 Akarma Records), but it's available also on Repertoire records (Repertoire 1991).

hate to be a spoiler but I picked this up a few years ago on it's reputation as a 'lost gem' and was disappointed with the muddy and not too progressive sound

"VERTIGO" certainly holds a lot of good bands. And, this proposal might be one of them. I will see the trend for this proposal.

I'm listening as we speak, David's right, the sound production and even instrumental execution is not always totally professional, but I think considering the time period in which it came out it works in a kind of nostalgic sense.

Probably best to PM the right team and get them to visit the thread, either JR or Canterbury.
