Guilt Machine's "On this perfect day" doesn't seem to be very popular in these parts. Why is that?
I actually haven't heard the album yet. I've been busy. But I can't wait to, because I'm a big fan of Arjen. |

I really like it too. Quite different to his other projects particularly as he has only one vocalist this time. Overall I would rate this higher than the last Ayreon album - however the sound is still unmistakeably Arjen's! enjoy

Gilt Machine is, IMHO, the best side project that Arjen has ever done. Not outstanding like his latest Ayreon album, but a pretty solid release anyway.

I don't think it's that people don't like it, people just don't really know about it. Im a big fan of Ayreon but I've only heard of this band once... Might have to check it out

I just bought it. More on the album when I hear it. But Arjen never fails. He may eventually release something less-than-great, but he's consistent.

I prefer Guilt Machine to Ayreon's zero-one-album. It had some great songs but there were just too many singers, was it 17 altogether, and it became a bit of a mess. (And I had this opinion before I just read from Arjen's interview that he thinks the same :) It would've been nice to hear more of Daniel Gildenlöw and Jonas Renkse for example.
So it was nice to hear Arjen go back to basics and make an album with normal band lineup and just one singer. And what a great voice Jasper Steverlinck has! Chris Maitland's drumming is also fantastic. |

I've listened to his myspace page a few times and it's grown on me from thinking it was fairly mediocre. I'll probably order it in the next week or so.
