He's certainly one of the most interesting and unique musicians I've heard.I've never heard the drums played so insanely and his many collaborations are always an interesting listen.
What's your favourite Zach Hill projects? Mine has to be Hella,El Grupo & his solo stuff.Fantastic stuff. Anyone not to sure of who he is,I'll be sure the post some links up for you soon. El Grupo Nuevo - A collabration between Hella & The Mars Volta Drum solo Dark Art - Solo Close up of his kick pedal (He doesn't use a double bass pedal) Edited by mrcozdude - November 28 2009 at 02:45 |

I love Hella, but I wasn't taken with El Grupo and his latest solo album, they were too poppy. I had the same problem with the Marnie Stern albums he drummed on, his drumming was good, but it was the same pattern repeated for the whole song. I want to hear Shred Earthship, though. |

I would describe her newest as a poppier, less annoying version of Melt Banana. Eh, Bygones is kind of annoying, I don't like that guitarist. Marnie Stern is much better at doing the repetitive complex pop thing than he is. I couldn't even listen to Click on that all the way to the end, it should have been at least half as long.
