Topic: Clepsydra VS Shakary Posted: November 28 2009 at 05:50 |
These two bands are from Switzerland and fronted by Aluisio Maggini as a vocalist (although later Noel McCalla appeared on Shakary last album). Which one is better?

I'm not going to vote because i really nee to re-visit Clepsydra. It's been too long. I have to say though that the "Last Summer" album by Shakary is by far my favourite from that band.

I voted Clepsydra although it's not totally fair because I have only heard Alya from Shakary, but I consider all 4 Clepsydra albums to be better than Alya. Now I'm thinking "The Last Summer" might be worth checking out, but I love Aluisio's voice and would miss it.

Clepsydra is indeed disgracefully underexplored. One of the best (if not the very best) neobands ever !!!
And I agree with Keneth that the vocals make a big part of the difference between Clepsydra and Shakary. Also I love Aluisio Maggini's voice and not really Noel mcCalla's.

Can't vote as i haven't heard Shakary. More Grains Of Sand and Fears by Clepsydra are fine albums though.

if you haven't heard "Alone", I think it might be their best!
I understand there is a lot of unreleased Clepsydra. I wish they would bundle it up.
Please, if you know them and haven't reviewed them, do so. It will help stimulate more interest. For my money they are so much above most other neo.

Thanks for the tip about 'Alone', I'll definitely check it out. Will try to post reviews of the two albums I have... they do deserve a higher profile.
