The Beatles were pretty much perfect in my opinion.  A perfect storm of creativity, talent, and success (which encouraged and even financed further creativity).

Can't remember if I've posted in this thread before, but Earth & Fire, Can, and Magma fall into this category for me too.

Rush.  I absolutely love everything they've ever done, no questions asked.

Even the albums I would criticize from an objective standpoint aren't anywhere near approaching bad.  All their material is at least decent, and merely decent tracks are a vast minority.

I completely agree. They were all directly or indirectly influenced by The Beatles. It was unavoidable. Still is. Smile

They are not a prog band, but they were much MORE than just a pop band. Revolver, Sgt. Peppers and Magical Mystery Tour all had Prog moments before Prog even existed. One could even argue that Prog started with Revolver or Pepper.

Nothing Rush has done has been bad in my opinion, certainly not everything is a masterpiece, but nothing bad ever.

King Crimson has done no wrong in my eyes. There aren't many long-running bands I can say that about. Nearly everyone soils their great record streak at some point.

I don't know if I already posted here, but King Crimson, altough I'm sick of their music, I just heard it too many times, guess I have to take a break.

Pink Floyd is close, but hell, Ummagumma and Momentary Lapse just fail in my opinion.

There are other contenders, but I don't know their whole discographies so I won't bring them up.

Power Windows is good, like all of their albums, or at least they all deserve a listen.
