This band is famous for its two founding members, Mike Rudd and Bill Putt, who formed Spectrum (one of the most influential Australian prog groups).
I think they fit in cross-over because their sound is similar to Spectrum (mostly because of Mike Rudd's unique voice) who are also in cross-over. They have released a total of four studio albums: A Strange Fantastic Dream (1973) The Jellabad Mutant (recorded in 1974, unreleased until 2002) Rock & Roll Scars (1975) Goodnight Fiona (1976) Plus some live albums. I have all their studio albums, so if the crossover team would like to take a look just send me a pm. Thanks! |

Already evaluated by Crossover - and rejected.

See above mate. I checked our charts, and they have already been subject to evaluation - with a negative outcome.

I mean thats fine that they were rejected by cross over (even though I disagree), but there are still a couple other subgenres I could try.

You could try - don't know the band myself so don't have any suggestions though. Rejected before my Xover times :-)

Hmmm....I know this rarely happens and even more rarely works, but is it possible for a re-eval?
Otherwise...thank you! |

Re-evaluations are usually done if new material is available or when an entire new team is in place. So for now I don't think that's possible as those criterias aren't in place.

So if I could take the time of both the Psych and Heavy Prog teams to eval this band, than I would be very appreciative. I have all of their albums, so if any of the said teams are interested then just send me a pm. Thanks! |

Yeah, heavy (though not altogether heavy), a possibility. Based on that track this is one I think should find a place in PA. Reminds me a bit of Khan (though not as good, imo) and others. I like it.

Just a note though, when a team flat out rejects a band rather than
suggests a move, it means that not only do they not think it right
for that team's category but that they don't think it right for PA at
all (though that was evaluated a little before my team member team so
progfreak might have operated differently then, and of course PA's parameters have shifted too). So this may, possibly, now count
as controversial.

This one that Lucas provided is a good track (if the rest was of the same quality then I'd be surprised that it wasn't suggested for another category):
Based on that, I would like to see it in. I like it more and more. It reminds me of Supertramp with some The Who, Queen, Khan etc. good pub/blues rock elements etc. Very good in fact and I'd call it prog. Edited by Logan - February 27 2010 at 18:06 |

^ I agree, the cut is rather good vintage prog, they should be added and I think we could take them in Heavy P.-- one comparison might be Aussies Fraternity who I added in Eclectic, so either that or Heavy could work..bottom line; they deserve a spot here
more info here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariel_(band) oh and they shouldn't be confused with the Russian band Ariel of the late 1970s Edited by Atavachron - February 28 2010 at 22:36 |
