Has anyone else heard this album??? It's absolutely awesome! Gungfly is a sideproject from the leader of Beardfish, Rikard Sjöblom. It's better than anything Beardfish has done IMO, despite how great Beardfish are. They're not in the archives yet but should be. Maybe eclectic or crossover...

I agree, this  is as moving as their band albums (Beardfish). We all see this potential that has to be released somewhere (albums 2007, 2008, 2009) - now "another" one in 2009, so fans are happy and we can all agree that Beardfish truly belongs here, right ?

So do this album. Very similar, even approaching our senses (and doing this whole prog business) in different way.

I agree.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Rikard released a solo album in 2003 called Cyklonmannen. It's pretty hard to find but if you can it's worth it.It's inspired by his idol Bo Hansson,as is his Bootcut project, which was inspired by Hansson & Karlsson.

(Jody, I haven't found it yet)

There are some tracks for you, who are interested. Not sure about what's their quality, but they're here.

Especially worth checking are (from up to bottom)

On and on - Gungfly - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIgii_ve2Tw
Gungfly - "Fly Into The Sun" Live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEZW0o32xMg
Gungfly - "Are You Aware That I'm Awake?" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxqmXo5hQ1o

reminding Beardfish a lot, some tracks here are, blues ? One track reminds me Sultans of Swing (well, not prog), ending solo of "Are You Aware" & whole "Fly Into the Sun" is like Beardfish.

Yet different.

Worth checking, for sure.

Yeah. I gave my vote three months ago, and I'm awaiting two more members of the Crossover team doing the same. This one should be a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned ;-)

Let's return to our job this week then (I have time now).

If I may, I would like to add this band & write bio.

that song sounds like pop

but still there's some nice elements here and there, and it's not so annoying pop, though i don't like that background choir except in the very beginning (in this case, i don't like to call it polyphonic. usually i like that kind of stuff, but somehow it fails in most modern prog/rock)

I've listened to bits of it and was pretty impressed with what I heard. Being a big Beardfish fan it's deffinitely one I'm going to pick up. Beardfish fans should also check out Bootcut.

At least I was able to finish the review :-)

http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=270332

(well, finish maybe isn't the right word, as it's quite unifinished, even I can advocate it as it is now)
