Hello all, next month (February 2010) is a big month in the Kayo Dot camp. I will be curating at The Stone in New York's East Village, having programmed an entire month's worth of amazing artists. There are several nights featuring Kayo Dot or projects with members of. We've been working our asses off getting an enormous amount of new music ready for these shows, featuring new work by myself, by our longstanding member Terran Olson, and even including appearances by our former guitarist Greg Massi and our former lyricist and motW vocalist Jason Byron! Terran Olson – “Nevsky Prospekt”
Terran Olson (piano), David Bodie (drums), Toby Driver (guitar)
Multi-instrumentalist known for his work with Kayo Dot, maudlin of the Well, and Autumn Tears premieres a new ensemble and long-form composition based on the story by Nikolai Gogol.

2/6 Saturday

Kayo Dot plays Choirs of the Eye
Toby Driver (guitar, vocals) Mia Matsumiya (violin, keyboards) Terran Olson (keyboards, woodwinds) Daniel Means (guitar, woodwinds, bass) David Bodie (percussion) and special guest Greg Massi (guitar)
Kayo Dot plays the entirety of their 2003 Tzadik debut, which has made many "Best Albums of the Decade" Lists, with special guest former KD guitarist Greg Massi joining for this performance only!

Kayo Dot plays Coyote

Kayo Dot plays the entirety of their forthcoming Hydra Head release.

Toby Driver (bass guitar and vocals), Mia Matsumiya (violin and electric violin), Jeremiah Cymerman (clarinet), Dan Means (alto sax) plus guests
Modern-classical electroacoustic doom lattices and wall-melting balladry. Questionable tonality. Gradual development, immediate descent into hell.

Jason Byron (voice)
Former lyricist of Kayo Dot and maudlin of the Well Jason Byron, an Initiate of ______, offers a brief talk on modern ceremonial Magick, and will perform a personal ritual, with musical accompaniment. A once in a lifetime experience not to be missed!

Thought this might interest some people. Pretty cool that they're playing all of Choirs Of The Eye and Coyote. I'd go if I lived in New York

I saw this a while ago when I was looking through The Stone schedule, and I didn't even think of making a thread about it. I'm tempted to go see Cayote, but I probably won't. However, if you are near the area and want to see Kayo Dot, The Stone is the place to see them. Just make sure you're early, it only seats 80 people!

I posted about this in the Stone Thread I'm running as well as in the RIO thread asking whether anyone else is going, but no one else said they were, so I'll ask here as well. Anyone going?
My wife and I plan to be there for the Kayo Dot shows (both) and perhaps for Larval (Bill Brovold) and Tartar Lamb as well.

Living in Greenwich Village, I am most definitely going at least to the Choirs of the Eye night
