To Heather.....

‘Through Valleys of Evergreens and Violets
We walked for a while,
We reached for the heart of the sun
And a forest of stars,
But down in the fields
I realised a dream
That they all shone from the back of your eyes’
Go well, friend of mine

Bryan Josh

heather

Heather Findlay left Mostly Autumn. She was certainly a driving force in the band together with Bryan Josh.
Olivia Sparnenn will take over the lead vocals. She is the backing singer since 2005 and sings now in Breathing Space (she will leave the band after the upcoming Dutch and UK gigs). They, Breathing Space got on CRS Award for Best Track - Questioning Eyes!

What do you think will this be the end of this great band?
Or a new opportunity for new musical adventures?

The farewell gig will be at Leamington Spa; 2th of April.
A Dutch tour (5 dates!) will be without Heather... (half April).

Read more here: http://www.mostlypink.net or http://www.mostly-autumn.com, with a letter of Heather and Bryan.

To me, Heather was one of the best things about MA, I'll miss her... I'm so glad I saw last December's X-mass show in the Netherlands! Good luck to Liv replacing her!

Cry
Although I think Olivia will do a great job too.  I enjoy her vocals on the Iain Jennings/Breathing Space albums.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

"Down in the fields

Can anyone give a somewhat more precise explanation of why she left the band?

The website goes into quite a bit more detail.  She is going solo, among other reasons.  And probably because Mr. Josh insisted on singing way too much himself.

Indeed and with his far inferior voice who can blame her. I never understood why he insisted on singing so much when he had such a talent as Heather in the band.

I'm sorry, but IMO Mostly Autumn are already finished when Angela Goldthorpe has left. Glass Shadow is a very disappointing album on which also heather sounds flat as she's not substained by Angela's arrangements and backing vocals. If you add that Bryan's solo is probably better than Glass Shadows, I really think that it would be better if they disband and leave Bryan to his solo career. What is Heather going to do now?

You will find here an article written by Heather about the reasons why she leaves MA.

I have ordered the CD and I suspect that Odin Dragonfly will be a new addition to PA.

I only found out this week. Very sad, because she was the main reason I got into the band alongside Josh' guitar playing.

She will be sadly missed and I am very sceptical about the band's future prospects now.

I saw Breathing Space last month, with Brian Josh on guitar. Bit of a teaser for the new MA and I must say, Liv Sparnenn didn't disappoint as a lead singer, so I'm mildly optimistic! I'm going to see MA next month again, I think it will be great. And hopefully Heather will come with a new album soon and start touring...

Mostly Autumn without Heather? Not possible is it? Interesting to see what eventuates and i bet Olivia will do her best as usual. I hope Heather has a prolific solo career and does better than Tarja when she left Nightwish.

She and Angela published an album some years ago as ODIN DRAGONFLY.
