iwrestledabearonce, the electro/pop/grindcore band (here in PA (!!!!)) will be touring this year all around the world. Fans of extreme metal should be interested, others should avoid.
I will probably attend the Paris concert.

hence the 3 exclamation marks.
 
They are mainly grindcore with short pop/disco transitions from time to time. The fact that they are somewhat "technical" makes them being tagged "mathcore".

Considering that the word "prog" has come to be associated with progressive rock based on composition, instrumental interplay and rich sound (this means symphonic prog, almost all fusion and canterbury, a lot of prog-folk and eclectic, but no psychedelic, kraut, avant, metal, experimental, post, etc.), I'd say that only a quarter or a third of what we have on PA qualifies as "prog" LOL

Bob, I think the reason they were inclued is that they are not a straightahead grindcore band, but rather a band mixing this type of music with pop and electro, in a "technical" way, similarly to Mr Bungle, but in a lesser extent with regard to the types of music covered.

Yeah they definitely do it in a gimmicky, cry-for-attention sort of way since you don't like them. I'm glad I know their reasons for making music now that you've elucidated your opinion of the band.

I hope to be able to make the Philly show. Seeing them with DEP and Animals as Leaders will be nice too. I've wanted to see iwrestledabearonce for awhile now and they picked a great first venue for me to be able to see them at.
