Topic: Intronaut or Baroness Posted: March 08 2010 at 21:01 |
Here are a couple of amazing progressive metal bands, well not your typical prog metal. Both bands are heavy and anyone who wants to hear some great heavy music check these guys out. So for those of you who have heard of these two great bands who is your fave of the two?

A month ago I would have said Baroness, but I might change that to Intronaut. I've become fairly obsessed with how good and how crazy progressive Prehistoricisms is. But Baroness is honestly still really good. I think a lot of people on this website give Baroness a hard rap. They deserve a little more attention.

Baroness for me. The Red Album blew me away completely and still does every time I hear it. Prehistoricisms was good, but it doesn't quite reach the heights that Baroness does for me. And I've also had the honor of seeing them open for Opeth, and will get to see them open for Mastodon.

Baroness.
I never understood the hype around prehistoricisms.

Intronaut. That 5 string fretless bass playing blows me away every time, especially on Sundial.

I too am enamored by Intronaut's fretless bass.
But, I think that Sundial is actually the worst track on the album.

Intronaut for me. I liked Red Album by Baroness and I've been to their concert and had a lot of fun but "Prehistoricism" blew my mind - it's one of the most impressive things that happened in metal in recent years.
I would like to see a battle between Intronaut, Mastodon and Gojira the three bands witch I consider to be the most promising in modern metal

Baroness. I don't think they are as experimental, but their songwriting is much tighter and mature. And plus the drummer knows when not to go nuts. Having said that, Australopithecus (or however it's spelt) is one of my favourite metal songs of the 00s.

Intronaut is dazzling.
Baroness must be the 113th-something stoner band that I have come to hear in my life. They don't have anything to offer compared to Kyuss or Melvins or Spiritual Beggars.

Baroness...and I like Blue better than Red.
I will have to revisit Intronaut again though.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Baroness sound like a faster version of Mastodon, really. They don't offer anything new. My vote goes to Intronaut.
