Just heard the sad news that Micky Jones of Man has finally sucumbed to the brain tumour he's been suffering with the last few years. A truly great and inventive guitarist who'll be greatly missed. Cry

Hwyl fawr, Micky.
The damage that we do is just so powerfully strong we call it love

The damage that we do just goes on and on and on but not long enough.

That's terrible, Mickey was an incredible guitarist, there is a whole lot of his work available on youtube and all the Man albums, one of the true greats, he will be greatly missed

A sad day. He is one of my favourite guitarists. His playing on 'we're only children' is magnificent.

I hope no one takes this too seriously,  but Man were way better than the Grateful Dead. Just personal preference,of course, but I found their tunes and experimentation much more interesting. The live version of "C'mon" (from "Back Into the Future") is just a classic piece of space rock.  So sad to hear this. What a great, under appreciated musician.

Oh, what a loss Unhappy not a surprise in the end considering his medical condition - however a great and unpretentious musician has gone - so sorry ...

Very sad news.
Being introduced to the twin giutar psychedelic assault that was Spunk Rock from Greasy Truckers in 1973 is still one of my most memorable musical moments.
He will be sadly missed.
Beware of the flowers, cos they're gonna get you yet!
