Sidenote about Czech Avant

As some of you may have already guessed, my Czech lands are country of Avant-Garde music. In transition to democracy/free economy in early 90's, situation here was desperate, full of mistakes, errors, cheats, but on the other hand also free. We value this word, freedom a lot, because that's what we wanted all the time.

Therefore, I'm not surprised that even just with 4/23 Czech bands being Avant, I've proposed two (with this one) now, there's third proposal Iva Bittova and I also plan to propose about 6 more Avant bands. Simply because there were conditions for them so they grew like mushrooms after the rain.

Proposal of Narajama

Hugues (Sean Trane) mentioned them for me and provided these links. Thanks for this, because I wouldn't stumble over them for a long time (I have one of their CD's). Too much work, but helping Czech scene this way is deserving (I feel better), so here I am, together with Sean proposing them.

There's one sample track (full track) I was able to find. Depicts quite well atmosphere of this album. However, each track is different. It's on more pleasant side of Avant, nothing too strong (you know).

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

I already wrote a bio for them,

Quote NARAJAMA was found in 1991, outskirts of Prague. Petr Valoš (guitar), Petr Goldman (drums), Igor Judas (bass) and Michal Mihal (vocals). First album has been made in 1993 and it was called “Webs”, even not oficially released. Some members left and new positions were taken by Roman Kouřil (guitar), Bohdana Petrů (cimbalom) and Milan Bílovský (vocals).

The groups signed papers with Indies Records and released two albums, “Vytancuj chmury” in 1996 (Dance Away Fears) and “V tom víně je nalháno” in 1997 (This wine is full of lies). The band successfully finished third record with working title “3'mej”, but it hasn't been released yet and maybe won't be, because the band disbanded somewhere after these two albums, but there has been rumors that they have had some reherseals and plan to join together again.

Their music is mix of Avant and Rock, having weird atmosphere in music, depressive, or nonsense lyrics, this band is another of golden age of Avant in Czech 90's.

Just so you know, the links to the Youtube videos and the band's Facebook page all lead back to this thread.

Here are links which lead to the sites:

I'm liking Vino so far, I'll check out the rest after my classes today.

Links fixed, you know how these forums controls can get tricky.

Well and I also saw this album for 80 Kč, which equals about $4, but not sure about how to buy it abroad.

Judging the band after their Vytancuj chmury album, they should be evaluated by the Eclectic team first. I'm alerting the team. Nice band!

Unfortunately it's the only one I have. Sadly.

So as I said in PM, I can do my part, but I'm confused right now from these moves and changes.

I listened before and didn't get around to responding (a lot on my mind).  It's a yes from me too, so it's cleared for Eclectic.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

Thanks to clarke200 for the artist addition. and to Marty McFly for the last updates

Funny thing is that I haven't updated anything on this page yet :-D I will, add 1-2 albums (have to examine them closely, what's an album and what's EP), but if you mean my help proposing/pushing them, it's OK.

Thanks, let's add second album.
