::: Review :::
New collaborative project from Greece, Awake & Gallo have recently published their first opus in the space rock musical spectrum. If John Dimoulas efforts with Awake were more into proggy eclectic rockin’ epic heaviness, this album features occasional semi-abstract synthesised soundscapes and new agey vibes. In this new adventure his is accompanied by Sakis Kasolis on guitars. John Dimoulas gets the talent to compose some dense-ominous haunting soundscapes. For instance a piece such as Astral Princess reveals some astonishing moments, mixing evil sounding rockin sequences with astral like noises & effects melted into obscure exotica harmonies. The result is utterly fascinating,transporting the listener into a complete other world. This sonic-cinematic vision which seems to be influenced by the mystical power of odd ocultism can also be perceived in the lysergic-ultimate creepy synthesised textures produced in the title track and in Prelude / planet caravan / music therapy. These pieces deliver strangey experiments, sound manipulations, static monochordal vibes and echoing guitar tricks, samples from field recordings. Frog is a Group sounds like an hybrid between Amon Düül II and Eno & Fripp’s cyclical meditative moods and atonal guitar sequences. A pleasant musical voyage through burgeonning acid mantra like atmospheres. A complex beauty...In the court of the holistic neodruidism
