In Search For is a band from Belarus, founded by singer and violinist Yann Zhenchak. In 2004 - 2008 he worked in the band Pesnyary (led by Leonid Bortkevich) and participated in the album "Ne vo sne li": http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=10864. Now he sings, plays violin, writes and arranges songs in folk-rock band Lyavony.

So Yann has at least two passions - Byelorussian folk and progressive rock.
Yann Zhenchak worked over his solo project during about 2 years. Initially he played all instruments by himself or used software to emulate sounds. In the end he decided to form a band, and in 2009 they released the album "Faith":

recorded by the band with the help of guest musicians. Basically it is prog-metal music, containing however symphonic and folk elements.

I don't think there are many bands in Belarus playing such music. The album was well received by prog fans and critics in Belarus and Russia. In my opinion this band deserves to be included here, on PA.

If samples on the band's website are too short, I can provide some tracks in their entirety (via, for example, rapidshare).
I have Yann's permission to do it for PA.

Listened to samples from above:

Melodic prog metal, influenced by Nightwish ( with female operatic second-vocals) in places, some symphonic elements, few traces of K.K. Downing, feelable power metal component. For me most interesting is instrumental Belorussian folk elements, unhappily not too much of them are presented. Again, just short samples, very possible full album will sound different.

Smile It's Yann's mother, Larisa Simakovich, the leader of Byelorussian folk ensemble "Gostitsa" (or a theater of folk songs, because "Gostitsa" perform traditional songs authentically and accompany them with choreography, recreating ancient traditional ceremonies). I don't think she listens to Nightwish.

Track 14 "Kahanne" ("Love") (Music: Yann Jenchak - Lyrics: Yanka Kupala) (non-typical for the album though)
