Haystacks Balboa was an American band which played heavy progressive rock full of heavy organs and guitars + quite harsh (bluesy?) vocals. They recorded only one self-titled album (sometimes known as "Detoxified " ) in 1970.

line-up:

Bruce Scott (vocals), Mark Harrison Mayo (guitar), Lloyd Landesman (keyboards), Mark Polott (bass), Mark Babani (drums)

I don't remember hearing vocals that awful in a long, long time. They might be prog but I don't plan on giving them a new listen DeadLOL

I found some more audio on youtube:

In fact vocals aren't always as bad as in song "Spoiler" :-). Anyway the most progressive songs are "Auburn Queen" (9:14 min) and "Ode To a Silken Men"(8:53). Unfortunatelly there are no free clips on youtube of these two compositions. Lots of organ, guitar solos and psych "talking" vocals there.
