Here's an unknown add:

Alex Wroten, a 23-year old prog fan/composer/performer from the USA. He has years of formal composition training, and  in the last few years has produced a few prog albums:
  1. Not Necessarily Like This (2009)
  2. Kirk Mannican's Liberty Mix (2007) [with The Residnts' offshoot Renaldo and the Loaf]
  3. Milligan Tribute Band (2005) [very Goblin-esque]
All of the track/length information is available from music.alexwroten.com, CDBaby, or Amazon

Cool stuff.

Whooops - I would go with Symphonic Prog, Progressive Electronic, or RIO depending on the track.

No chance in hell this will make a way to Symphonic or Electronic - it will be rejected in a blink of an eye.

However, there's zany Art Rock touch - I'd say Avant Rock, Eclectic or Crossover - it reminds me of Devo / XTC with more prog rock, occasionally going bananas.

Yeah, I didn't think about Eclectic. That or Avant seem the best fit.

There are avantgarde elements in the music, but in a good mix with other influences. Can you take this for Eclectic, Moris?

Sorry about the delay (Clarke voted quite some time ago, but I didn't get around to this until now -- I'm not officially on the Eclectic team any more but help out).  Especially wish I'd checked it sonner since you offered to help with the addition and in such cases it's especially helpful to strike while the iron is hot.  I hope the offer still stands.

It's cleared for Eclectic now.

Thanks!

Someone would have to write the bio and only Special Collaborators can enter a band into the database (if you wanted to prepare the bio as well, then I could add it for you under your name -- would PM it to me in that case and if I'm not around then could PM it to Clarke or any Special Collab).  After the band is entered in PA, then anyone can add the albums.  You'll see an "add albums" hyperlink; just click on that, log in, and fill in the fields.  We'd PM you to let you know when Alex Wroten has been added, then the albums can be added by you.  I suggest looking at albums in PA to get a better feel for the format (and if you did do the bio, also look at bios to see how they've been done.  Magma's is a good one as a template, and should be in your own words (doesn't need to be long)

As for mp3s, there is info on that here (may have been some changes): http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=28305&PN=1

They need to be 128kbs. The File Name should read Band - Album - Track Number - Track Name.

Like this:

Zip them up (if there is more than one file) and send them by "yousendit" or "megaupload" etc to
[email protected]
Thank you.

Any help would be be appreciated, thanks.

I've never submitted an mp3, though I'd like to for various artists.
