just curious..

I feel that if we take the best from unhalfbricking and liege and lief - we would have ourselves one of best and most impressive folk albums of all time. Both are superior 5-star albums. I'll vote for liege and lief.

I don't like this band as much as I used, but the albums you mentionned contain great moments. Voted Liege and Lief

I love this band   as much as Steeleye Span, just don't know why they are in PA.

BTW: My vote goes for the self titled debut.

I really like Fairport Convention, but I don't like the Sandy Denny-era very much. The best albums came later, in my opinon. I voted for Full House, but Babbacombe Lee is another very good album.

My favourite Fairport album is, however, Jewel In The Crown from 1995; one of their most Prog-related albums.

The four albums from What we did... through to Full House are all superb (and the rest of the albums on the list aren't too shabby either), but Liege and Lief is their finest moment.

I think Liege and Lief is rather overrated. I'd only give it 3*

Unhalfbricking is undoubtedly a really good 4* album and gets my vote.

Can I use this as an opportunity to say that this past weekend my wife spotted Richard Thompson on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and we basically stalked him all the way down the promenade?

Liege and Lief, by the way.

The damage that we do just goes on and on and on but not long enough.

Liege and Lief.  What a great album!

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

Great Album.  Clap  I've been into What We Did On Our Holidays lately, so that got my vote.  Other than that, like so many others, Liege and Leaf.

I went for Angel Delight. I think it is the atmosphere of that album which attracts me, the band were all living together (In "The Angel") at the time, resulting in a very happy album.

Good recommendation SSotS, a fine album from their later years (named after a curry house!).

Interesting choice Ivan, probably their least folk album of all.
