Darediablo is little-known American trio which plays difficult to describe powerful instrumental rock music. Their sound is a maix of prog-metal, heavy prog-rock, jazz rock/fusion, stoner rock and some avangarde. Main instruments are heavy organ, Fender Rhodes piano and thundering electric guitar. All of this sounds modern...but with  obvious 70' feel.

line-up:

Jake Garcia (double-neck bass, electric guitar), Matthew Holford (Fender Rhodes, Hammond organ), Peter Karp (drums, 2000-2001), Chad Royce (drums, 2001-present)

lots of free mp3 to listen from their official website:

Most of the mp3 files from their website aren't working, and the CDBaby samples are only excerpts. They might be a good case for Heavy Prog, but I can't judge based on that only.

We'll just have to be patient. From what I remember about this band, they're a clear case for PA. Thumbs Up

Hi guys, it's Matt from Darediablo.  I appreciate the thread.  I realize that a lot of our links have become stale; the band itself has been out of commission for almost five years now, and Southern Records US, our old label, got folded back into Southern Records UK.  They own rights to our last two albums, and last I heard they didn't magically give us the rights back.

I put up some music that we own outright and can share for free.

Hope you enjoy.

Matt

Thanks Matt, I'm looking forward to listening to the albums. The samples I found were all excellent and progressive music Thumbs Up What are you doing now, what are your plans?

Glad you like the music.  We're still in NYC, all busy with life, taking a break from being in bands.  Jake, the guitarist, is finishing grad school.  Chad, the drummer, runs a music studio with Scott Mann, who produced all of the Darediablo albums.  I recently became a father, which will keep me busy for the next twenty years or so.

Chad's making music, and I'm sure Jake and I will be back to it in our own ways before too long -- once it gets in the blood, it doesn't come out.  I play a lot with my brother Casey, a talented musician and producer in Brooklyn.

Ronny James Dio, RIP!

Oh you guys are young, taking a break now doesn't spoil your chances to leave your mark on the modern music scene. You've got quite some time ahead of you! Just don't give up completely. And thanks for sharing! Maybe our reviews (once the band is added to the database) will give you some extra motivation Wink

The second download doesn't appear as an actual release anywhere, including the official website. I'd make it an entry as a Live Album / Digital Release, but what release date should I put? And I'd also need something that could stand as album cover. Smile

That's just a live recording -- it was released the day it was recorded.

How about this as an album image?

Bedtime Stories is pretty good.  In my mind I've always drawn a comparison to Medeski, Martin & Wood or Benevento/Russo Duo.
