Same.

that's the one. although I will admit that CTTE is a more "perfect" album.  I think this is the genuine masterpiece, though, for all its flaws.

^In my book "perfect" and a "genuine masterpiece" are pretty equal terms, but perhaps I'd have to be English...

For me, an album like Foxtrot is a genuine masterpiece, but is not perfect. (I don't adore Can-Utility as much as I think I should). Tales is another one, but isn't really perfect (middle of Revealing)

I can't point to a single thing on CTTE that I would describe as a flaw, and it's definitely more polished than Tales. If CTTE had been Yes' last album (which heaven forbid because then I would have to do without Relayer, TFTO and GFTO, not to mention many songs since that I love), I would have no hesitation calling it a masterpiece. I just think Tales went even further, in ambition and execution, although it does have issues.

Something can be perfect without being a masterpiece and something can be a masterpiece without being perfect.  The two categories are not interchangeable.

Holger Czukay - Movies
It's not perfect, it's insane. But still.
King Crimson's Discipline is close second.

I just might have to agree with this. Relayer is my personal favorite (along with CTtE), but this just might be the pinnacle.

I already named mine ("Fairy Tales" by Mother Gong, but these two would have been close contenders:

Peter Hammill - The Fall of the House of Usher (1999 version)

Nik Turner - Xitintoday

So none of the usual suspects for me; my favourite albums are little known.
