So, we would like to make a cover of Pink Floyd's time and it would definitely be very cool to have the track with all the ticking clocks and the other stuff. Any ideas? I'm ina kinda hurry, so please tell me if you know anything.

Get a bunch of clocks or free clock noises and mix them on Audacity or something to make a really sustained clock intro like on DOSTM. Then record the voices of your friends doing the quotes. Play the audacity track while your recording the demo, or mix it into it.

That's how I imagine it anyway. The rest should be "straightforward" instrumental and vocals stuff. I'm no musician, but that's how I would go about it if someone put a gun to my head.

EDIT: wait... I don't think there are any voices in Time? Are there? Well, that should make it even "easier." I can't remember how much atmospheric stuff there was in Time, I imagine that would be tricky to add. As long as you get the basic drums, keyboards, bass and guitar lines, I'd be satisfied as a PF fan. I'm not very demanding. Big smile

There are guitar pro files out there that have these. The play back of sounds will depend on the midi synth chip used for playback. That is if you play them back on your standard pc soundcard they will sound pretty ordinary. You may have access to a professional soundcard with a good synth chip, or you may have a keyboard which will playback midi signals from a computer. You have to save the guitar pro out as a midi file first.

Have done this myself for a cover of time.

Sorry, I think we were misundrestood. I only want the ticking clocks and the "whateveritis" tempo for the intro that is played in the background. The band is doung the rest of the song.

Yes, I got that, but midi is based in tracks, so you can mute all the tracks but the clock chimes and ticking. 

Floyd actually used the bass for the ticking- palm dampened notes on open strings 3 and 4 in continuous repetition

Thank you very much, that was useful. Can you please link me a GP track like that? I downloaded a few at 911tabs, but didn't find anything useful.
