Show of Hands was little-known American jazzy progressive/psychedelic rock trio which was formed in 1967 and disbanded in 1972.
They recorded only one album called "Formerly Anthrax" in 1970. Their music is usually described as jazz-rock with dominating organ playing, however I suppose Eclectic Prog would be the best place for them. Most interesting parts of their sole album is almost 7 minutes instrumental "I Want to Fly" and "No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed" which is cover of Yes songs from thier second album. line-up: Jerry McCann (vocals, guitar, flute), Jack Jacobsen (Hammond organ, piano), Rick Cutler (drums, percussion) audio samples: http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/97477049-formerly-anthrax http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/show_of_hands_f1/_formerly_anthrax_/ http://www.amazon.com/Formerly-Anthrax-Show-Hands/dp/B001G2S4CM other info: http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/show_of_hands_f1 www.last.fm/music/Show+of+Hands |
